Admire Rebus (ECN):
Analyzes and projects deployment of RES-E based on current and planned policies, technology costs and renewable energy potential.
RSE SpA
: Optimizes transnational electricity transfer during the 2005-2030 timeframe.
EMPS:
The Multi-area Power-market Simulator has been developed for optimization and simulation of hydrothermal power systems with a considerable share of hydro power. It takes into account transmission constraints and hydrological differences between major areas or regional subsystems.
eTransport (SINTEF):
Computes alternative infrastructures for multiple energy carriers. Electricity, natural gas, LNG,oil biomass/waste and district heating.
GASTALE (ECN):
A game theory model that calculates investment from gas transmission and storage system operators. The model is mainly used to study the required gas supply infrastructure necessary to meet the projected gas demand with available gas supply from the key suppliers surrounding the EU during the 2005-2030 timeframe.
GreenNet (EEG):
A least cost grid model which incorporates several RES-E generation technologies. The model covers the entire EU27 region, and also includes Norway, Switzerland and the remaining Balkan region.
IWILAS (Fh-ISI): An integrated wind generation and load management model simulating hourly wind power generation and the available balancing options.
MARKAL:
Calculates the minimum system cost configurations over a given timeframe. The resulting energy balance scenarios will be used as a basis for infrastructure models.
